Aerosmith and Beyoncé featured at F1 weekend
Singer Beyonce and rock legends Aerosmith are set for a new scheme that matches Formula races and top notch pop and rock performances.
Beyoncé, author of hits like ‘Single Ladies’, will open the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix celebrations with a concert on October 29, sources close to the promoters have confirmed. Aerosmith, the notorious bad boys of 70s rock with hits like ‘I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing’ will be the key performers at the grand finale for the race weekend, on November 1.
Rumours have been circulating that Nelly Furtardo and No Doubt were also set to perform at the F1 weekend but these have been denied. There are acts which will perform on the events two other nights but they still have to be announced sometime next week.
All four performances will be held only for race-day ticket holders. People who will not have purchased race-day tickets for the Formula One event, will still have access to a series of free live concert featuring more international artists.
These include Timbaland, Soul II Soul and The Wailers on Tuesday October 27, and Saturday, October 31. Also featured will be top Arabic acts such as Fares Karam, Ragheb Alame and Mohamed Hamaki.
The latest news contradicts rumours surrounding the disbanding of Aerosmith after frontman Steven Tyler had suffered injuries following a fall sustained at a gig during their North American tour.
The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will be the first ever day/night F1 race.
