Car hire deal reached between Co-op Travel and CarRentals.co.uk
Carrentals.co.uk has announced that Co-op Travel will be the first company to incorporate its white label car hire solution into their website, meaning that their customers will have a more integrated experience and find a wider selection of rental car companies, vehicles and price offers.
Co-op Travel has said that it aims to double its car hire business during the first year of the agreement.
Justin Joyce, the Co-op Travel head of customer experience, noted: “The Carrentals solution offered us the ability to include their full comparison service, but with our own branding throughout. The result is a far superior car hire experience for our customers, with feedback from users already very positive and bookings in the first few days of launch well ahead of target.”
The announcement of the agreement comes at a time that many travellers are finding rental car shortages and higher rental rates – both in the UK and in Europe – as car hire companies reduce their fleet sizes due to the recession. With Co-op Travel’s new car hire service, consumers will find a wider selection of suppliers, meaning a greater choice in vehicles and price offers.
Gareth Robinson, the Carrentals.co.uk managing director, said of the deal: “This is the first white label agreement we have entered into, but the quality of our car hire offering is attracting growing interest from companies who want to enhance their customer experience in this area. We’ve invested a lot in developing the technology to deliver a first class comparison service, and we are confident that Co-op Travel will quickly see the benefits this brings in terms of sales and service.”
