Comparator again heads natural search rankings with at least 53% of all internet car hire related searches, as confirmed by a new Greenlight report*
19 JANUARY 2011 – Pioneering car hire price comparison site Carrentals.co.uk has topped rankings for SEO and social media marketing, as confirmed by the latest Car Hire sector research conducted by leading search engine marketing company, Greenlight.
In terms of visibility, the award-winning car rental site secured the top ranking for natural search rankings on car hire search terms back in October 2010 and achieved 53% out of the total 763,000 searches related to car hire that were performed, while also being able to record the highest SMPI (Social Media Popularity Index).

As well as this, the report also managed to reveal that in terms of natural searches, Carrentals.co.uk became the most visible website – finishing in first place in terms of both domestic and worldwide searches in October last year, with 54% for the former and and 53% for the latter, helping it to achieve a 6% increase in online visibility since last July.
“Securing our position as the most visible online car hire website reflects the success of our online strategy, and we will continue to develop and refine this over the coming months,” adds Gareth. “Social media, in particular, is a rapidly growing area and we’re excited to be leading the way for the car hire sector in such an important field.”
Greenlight’s findings support Carrentals.co.uk’s growing online presence, which also came Highly Commended in the Best Meta-search/Price Comparison field at last year’s Travolution Awards 2010.
