End of Boozing Line for Keith Richards

Posted on January 27, 2010

The Rolling Stones guitarist and notorious eternal bad boy of rock-and-roll Keith Richards has announced that his boozing days are over.

The sixty-six-year-old Richards is reported to not have had a drop of alcohol in four months.

It’s been reported that the move by the aging rocker has been prompted by his doctor who has apparently given him strict orders to stay away from alcohol. The unraveled life through alcoholism of fellow Stones musician Ronnie Wood has also helped Richards to wise up.

It’s been reported that Richard’s doctors have been ordering him to stop drinking for years. The co-founder of the legendary band is known to once have said he would never quit because he’s outlived a number of his doctors.

He suffered a brain haemorrhage four years ago after falling from a palm tree during a holiday in Fiji with Wood. The trip was been one of his habitual alcohol-fuelled episodes and was subsequently warned that his hedonistic way of life had finally taking its toll.

A friend of the musician said that Richards has always enjoyed feeling unhindered by alcohol usual devastating effect, although has woken up after witnessing Ronnie fall truly off the wagon as year ago.
