Fresh incest case rocks Austria
Police in Austria today arrested a man that is accused of imprisoning then sexually abusing his two daughters for over 40 years.
The suspect, now 80, all-out denies the abuse, which, according to sources, allegedly started once one girl turned 12 years of age and while the other was only four.
Police say that the case was reported back in May, which is when the daughters managed toescape after one knocked over their father as he attempted to rape her.
Now 53 and 45 years of age, both of the daughters have been found to have serious mental deficiencies.
Die Presse newspaper in Austria says there are strong echoes of another infamous Austrian case, that of Jozef Fritzl’s, who is now serving a life sentence after being found guilty of imprisoning and raping his daughter in addition to fathering seven children by her.
Thus far though, in contrast to Josef Fritzl’s case, there has been no mention of any incestual children being fathered in this new case.
A social worker discovered the alleged abuser, who was lying on the floor at least two days, incapacitated by the fall he had made.
He has received hospital treatment and is said to still be mentally alert. On Thursday he was apprehended by Austrian police then moved from the nursing home he was resting at to prison.
