Marks and Spencer model rushed to hospital
Model Lisa Snowdon is recovering in hospital after she was diagnosed with meningitis.
The 38-year-old pin-up, who features heavily in Marks & Spencer Christmas adverts, fell heavily ill with symptoms similar to flu last week and was then rushed to hospital, just hours after she had turned on the famous Bond Street Christmas decorations in the UK capital, London.
As a friend told the media, the star was lucky to make it through the procession of turning the lights on, and afterwards had to go and host a dinner. However, she was feeling that under the weather that she headed straight to a doctor, who immediately checked her into hospital and diagnosed her with the illness of viral meningitis.
Because of her illness, Miss Snowdon this week was forced to miss her daily breakfast show, which she hosts with ex-Big Breakfast star Johnny Vaughan on London’s Capital Radio. At the moment, singer of The Saturdays, Frankie Sandford, is standing in for her on the show.
According to the same friend that told the media about what happened over the last few days, Snowdon is now apparently getting better, but is still recovering in hospital.
Thankfully for Snowdon, Viral meningitis is a less serious kind of meningitis that the deadly bacterial form, with symptoms often mistaken for flu. While doctors often prescribe anti-nausea medication and headache tablets, rest of at least two weeks is always advised.
For many women in the UK, Miss Snowdon is seen as one of a growing amount of attractive women that are happy to stay single as they enjoy great success in their careers.
