T in the Park creator partners with F1

Posted on August 05, 2009

Glaswegian Paul Morrison is excited about his massive new project.

The man who created T in the Park, a hugely successful music festival held annually in Scotland, has launched the first in a series of glitzy F1 rock concerts at Grand Prix races around the world.

Morrison, who brainchild the Scottish event back in 1992 with the idea of a massive music festival, will be staging three concerts at next month’s Formula 1 Grand Prix in Singapore.

Simple Minds, Beyonce, ZZ Top, Black Eyed Peas, N*E*R*D and Chinese superstar Jacky Cheung will all perform at the shows which will bring the F1 star drivers together with the top names in rock music. F1 drivers, film stars and supermodels will also join the music stars for appearances.

Plans are already underway for massive televised shows at future Formula 1 races and Paul admits the experience gained through T in the Park gave him the confidence and inspired him to create these groundbreaking events.

“It’s a very different thing but in some ways, T in the Park is the blueprint.” Paul said.

“I have a new events company called All The Worlds which is part of the Universal Music Group of companies.

“The global premiere will be at Singapore and it is part of a five year deal”, the 42 year old added.

The 10,000 seat Fort Canning Park in Singapore will host the three-day bash from September 24 to 26, just ahead the Grand Prix on September 27.
