Rumours are flying about talks of a Amy Winehouse tour in the works for September 2010.

Her goddaughter, 13-year-old singer Dionne Bromfield, has commented on the project.

Bromfield, who launched her debut record ‘Introducing…’ a few weeks ago, said she would love to tour herself but will have to wait since a little young to do so.

Bur she did reveal that plans are currently being devised for her to hit the orad with “a certain somebody” in 2010.

Bromfield told the Daily Star that, although too young at the moment, by September 2010 she may find herself being the support act for the person in question.

The teenager took advantage of her media talk to squash rumours of a possible re-marriage between Aunty Amy and ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil., adding that it’s pure speculation and Whinehouse is happy without him.

Island Records boss Darcus Beese revealed In October that he hoped to have a new Whinehouse album ready for a 2010 release.

Meanwhile, the “Back To Black” singer was spotted this week splurging on vast numbers of Christmas decorations.

It was reported that Winehouse shelled out £18,000 for the items which will be used to deck out her north London home for an epic festive party.

American media have also said that the singer should expect great rewards from her new Cover Of Sam Cooke’s Classic ‘Cupid’. Despite being launched last July, Winehouse’s version of the song has started to receive significant air play.

Now many industry experts are saying that online sales of the track could pull the performer back into the charts, just as she initiates her third album.

Iconic Irish rockers U2 have been booked and confirmed to appear as the headline act at next year’s Glastonbury Festival, a move which will contribute to the event’s 40th anniversary celebrations, said event founder Michael Eavis.

This will also mark the band’s initial performance at the Somerset festival, launched in 1970 by Mr Eavis, a former dairy farmer.

In order to play at the event staged at Pilton’s Worthy Farm, the band will need to take a short pause from their tour of North America during the weekend of June 26 to June 28.

Finally, claimed Mr Eavis, the greatest musical on the planet is going to entertain a huge crowd at the world’s best rock festival.

He said that this represented the biggest and best thing for the 40 year anniversary of the Glastonbury happening, hinting that there would be great news in the new future in terms of lineup.

Running and organising the yearly event with his daughter Emily, the 74-year-old music enthusiast has reportedly been longing for an appearance from the boys from Dublin for quite a while. U2 agreeing to the show ends Mr Eavis 26-year-old quest to lure the band.

Mr Eavis said the 2010 edition will feature a series of acts fit for the occasion. All the tickets were sold within 24 hours last month and about 177,500 festival-goers are certain to have a great time.

Famous for its music as well as for its rainy weather, the farm has occasionally ended up looking like an enormous mudbath during some editions in the past.

The Somerset farm suffered some several showers and even flash floods in 2005, creating pandemonium at the site and forcing several concert-goers to creatively use their tents as makeshift boats in order to navigate around waterlogged areas.

During the 2007 version of the festival, the site experienced further rain thus threatening with a similar scenario, although a 2005 type disaster was avoided thanks mostly to a new draining system.

In related news, U2 was forced to pay the Dublin city council a fine stemming from noise regulation infractions which occurred during their series of shows in the Irish capital last summer. Several residents of the area where the band was performing had made formal complaints to the city. The fine totaled £33,000.

The Rolling Stones have been named by the bookies to be the favourites to headline at the closing of next year’s Glastonbury Festival.

Although organisers haven’t announced any acts for the 2010 edition of the Glastonbury festival, all the tickets for the grand event have sold out within 12 hours of being made available to the public and now bookmakers and fans alike have started the rumour mill with speculations on which band or performer is most likely to close the final night of the event.

Rupert Adams, an official with the online betting company William Hill, said that they had lost a bit of money on the Glastonbury headline act for two years in a row adding that this results will prove to be interesting.

The bookmakers have The Rolling Stones listed as the number one pick with 4 to 1 odds to be booked for the Sunday night show in 2010, with Coldplay and David Bowie neck and neck as second favourites with 8 to 1.

Funny enough, Oasis, despite being without guitarist Noel Gallagher, are still considered to be contenders, ranked at 33/1.

Adams said of the Gallagher brothers that they may believe that the split is premanent but they still may change their mind and the Glastonbury festival would be the perfect event for reconciliation.

Here’s are list of the top acts who are considered by bookmakers for the closing date of the event:

Rolling Stones 4/1
Coldplay 8/1
David Bowie 8/1
Muse 10/1
U2 12/1
Artic Monkeys 12/1
Radiohead 14/1
Prince 16/1
Elton John 16/1
Red Hot Chilli Peppers 16/1
Kings Of Leon 16/1
Green Day 20/1
Robbie Williams 20/1
Stone Roses 20/1
Madness 25/1
Spandau Ballet 25/1
Manic Street Preachers 25/1
Take That 33/1
Oasis 33/1

Organisers have confirmed that tickets for the 2010 edition of the Glastonbury festival are scheduled to go on sale on at 9am (BST) October 4.

As the same with previous years, those wish to purchase tickets must register online on Glastonburyregistration.co.uk before applying for the tickets. The Glastonbury festival allows a £50 deposit, offering fans the option of booking a ticket before paying the balance of the full price next February.

For the next edition, weekend ticket cost £185 – £10 more than last year’ – plus £5 for a booking fee and £4.95 for postage.

Festival organiser Michael Eavis recently said that he had been hoping to keep the cost of the ticket the same as the 2009 prices, but was unable to.

He said that prices have risen a little bit. He claimed to have been trying to keep prices as low as possible.

Eavis also pushed aside any rumours regarding plans for retirement saying that he’s thinking of retiring at all. He said that although he’ll have to some day, it’s not something he foresees in the near future.

On another note, Eavis has confirmed that potential acts have already been approached to play in 2010, adding that some of the performers are particularly interested to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the festival.

Eavis confirmed an extra thousand spaces for the camper van field.

Glastonbury 2010 tickets will be available starting October 4. Please visit Glastonburyfestivals.co.uk for more information.

On the eve of 2010 Commonwealth Games, India must take immediate steps to guaranty that it can host the event, a top sports official has claimed.

Randhir Singh, the secretary general of the Indian Olympics Association said that some of the worries over the progress of preparation are valid.

His statements come after a warning from the head of the Commonwealth Games that plans for the Indian games were severely behind schedule.

Other concerns are over security organisation and housing for guests.

In a written communication to the local organising committee, Commonwealth Games Federation boss Mike Fennell is rumoured to have cautioned regarding India’s preparations claiming the country was behind schedule.

He said that the Commonwealth Games in 2010 were actually at risk.

A federal government report made a few months ago claimed that the work on 13 out of the 19 venues was behind schedule.

Mr Singh did confirm that Mr Fennell’s concerns were justified and that things had to be worked out. He added that the vnues running behing would be ready on time despite the delays.

Mr Singh said there is not much to fix, but things did have to be hurried.

Earlier he told reporters that organizers must wake up and added that there are no reasons why India cannot deliver.

Preparations for the Commonwealth Games in Delhi, have long suffered from controversy.

There were many doubts regarding the future of Games village capable of housing 8,500 athletes following a report from environmentalists protesting against its location. They had claimed that the village is being built too close to the River Yamuna. But the Supreme Court ruling allowed work on the village to resume.

The Camelot Theme Park has recently confirmed that it is definitely planning to be open for business for the new 1010 season next spring.

This good news follows the fact that the attraction theme park has this summer garnished it best August numbers since 2005, with the amount of visitors jumping by 10%.

The sales and marketing manager for Camelot Theme Parks, Sandra Dempsey, said yesterday that many people will know that the theme park suffered from an uncertain beginning to the season this year plus the weather has not always been cooperating, but Camelot is truly delighted that the North West of the country has once again made the amusement park one of its most visited attractions.

Ms Dempsey added that the Camelot Theme Parks are extremely happy with early reports indicating visitor numbers for the season better than forecasted.

Camelot is scheduled to open its doors for the next season on April 2 2010, which is Good Friday.
