Britain's roads and highways will bear the brunt of this weekend with the exodus created by the bank holiday.
British Airways has also forecasted that 1.9 million travellers will use its terminals at its seven UK airports, including Stansted, Heathrow and Gatwick – maybe 50,000 less passengers than in 2008.
