Yesterday marked the third time in recent memory that Michaels has been sued for her product, which promises to give new hope to the hopelessly overweight. On this occasion, Michaels has been accused of selling supplements that are ‘potentially lethal’ according to one upset customer. Kathy Hensley has filed a class action against the popular celebrity trainer, with a Los Angeles Superior Court to adjudicate in the controversy.

Hensley said that Michaels had sold her soul to the devil when she entered into a partnership with the manufacturers of the pills, a charge that could no doubt be laid against anyone who appears on the show. According to Hensley, Basic Research and Thin Care, the companies behind the product, did not thoroughly disclose all of the ingredients in the pills, which are marketed under the name ‘Jillian Michael Maximum Strength Fat Burner’. This led to an apparent toxic and lethal cocktail for unwitting dieters.

The ‘potentially lethal’ element relates to citrus aurantium in the pills which has been linked to cardiac problems and high blood pressure in some users. One wonders whether the fact that they were taking diet pills in the first place may have also contributed to these symptoms.

Hensley is suing for around $5 million from the companies and Michaels. The trainer stands by her product and says she will continue to promote them in order to aid people in their weight-loss goals. If you are going to rely on synthetic, chemical supplements to lose weight instead of regular exercise and a healthy diet then you really do fit the show’s name. Put down the pills, pick up a piece of fruit instead.

The pair were part of a group in exile for part of the series, which meant reduced rations of rice and beans.

The lack of meat forced the contestants to apparently capture, kill and eat a rat in a risotto.

D’Acampo, a 33-year-old chef, said that he saw one of the rats running around, got a knife, got its throat and picked it up.

The exiled group included 30 year old Manning, who ate the rat and enjoyed the meal.

Chief Inspector David O’Shannessy from the RSPCA in New South Wales said it was not acceptable that an animal had been killed as part of a performance.

He said if animals are used in TV productions they’re to be used in accordance to a cde of practice which states no animal could be killed or harmed.

O’Shannessy went on to say the circumstances may be completely different if someone was in outback Australia and that was going to be their last meal but this was for the production of a TV show.

He stated that the rules would not relate to insects and grubs which have been eaten by contestants in the past.

According to O’Shannessy, crocodiles and other animals could be consumed, but it depended very much on the method they are killed and processed for human consumption.

Carla Lane, a renowned animal rights campaigner, said it was a stupid programme and it was obvious that these people weren’t suffering at all.

She went on to say that it wasn’t acceptable, especially for people like that who have never been hungry in their lives and who’ve chosen to go on a programme to make easy money.

A spokesman for the New South Wales police said that two men aged 30 and 33 were issued field court attendance notices and are due to attend court at Murwillumbah on Feburary 3rd next year.

According to Eileen O’Neill, the president and general manager of TLC: “You’ll see Jon struggle in the kitchen trying to make pizza for his kids,” adding: “You’ll see what it’s like when Kate has to put a tent up for the first time for her kids, who love to camp in their backyard. And she gets a little advice from her daughter who doesn’t think she does it quite as well as dad.”

The TV exec did not indicate, though, whether some of the new people in lives of both Gosselins would be integrated into the show.

Although Jon recently told PEOPLE magazine that he’s “single — per se”, he added: “I don’t want to introduce anyone [I'm dating] to my kids.” What he didn’t say, however, is whether he would be introducing them to the show’s fans.

O’Neill told reporters: “As far as new people and places that may be cycling into Jon and Kate’s lives, we’re taking it on a case-by-case basis.”

“Jon and Kate have never said they were perfect,” she indicated, and went on to say: “You’re still going to see two parents that love their kids, but you’ll see them parenting separately.”

After fans watched their marriage disintegrate on TV over the last few months, Jon and Kate Gosselin, the famed reality television couple from the TLC show “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ have said they will divorce.

During Monday’s heavily-promoted episode of the hit series, Jon and Kate, the parents of eight children, made separate announcements about ending their 10-year marriage. The children will remain in the house, however, and Jon and Kate will take turns living there – so the show will go on.

The announcement wasn’t exactly a surprise, as viewers had seen their relationship deteriorate over recent weeks, and their problems have been tabloid and celebrity media headlines: “Caught With Other Woman” and “Inside Jon’s Prison” caught the attention of those who don’t follow the TV series.

Monday’s episode began with playhouses being delivered for the children, but the tension between the parents was evident from the start.

Around 30 minutes into the show Jon said: “Kate and I have decided to separate,” as he sat alone on the couch.

He commented about their relationship: “I was too passive. I just . . . went along with everything. Now I finally stood up on my own two feet and I’m proud of myself.”
