Simon Cowell is considering signing Robbie Williams as judge number five at the X Factor show.

The move would be one in a series of modifications which are said to affect the popular talent show.

Cowell has recently threatened to shut down the series if ITV executives fail to provide him with an extra weekly £300,000 in funds needed for the revamp.

Simon’s demands include:

The addition of a fifth judge to the current line-up in a bid to avoid criticised deadlocks.

Augmenting the number of finalists from 12 to 16.

Prolonging the series by a month.

Presenting the live shows at Wembley Arena in London

Replacing Dannii Minogue with another female judge

Cowell said that several changes would come to the talent show starting next year if it comes back. He said that the show must begin a changing process if it’s to avoid failure.

Talking about Robbie Williams, Cowell said that he likes him and he would make a great judge on the show, adding that he’s a fun guy with good instincts.

The last show of the season had been expecting a record British audience of 20 million viewers as The X Factor ends in a dramatic climax.

Cowell has been rumoured to be fed up of co-judge Dannii Minogue, claiming to be disliking being upstaged by the singer.

The X Factor guru, despite being extremely good at what he does, has come across as a controlling individual who must have his finger on all aspects of the show. It’s been speculated that he does pretend to want strong and opinioned women on the show but also fears being outperformed by them.

Pop sensation Robbie Williams is scheduled to perform a duet with Olly Murs at the X Factor final.

This Saturday night, Olly’s fellow budding stars Joe McElderry and Stacey Solomon will also be singing with famous performers. Solomon is set for a match up with Michael Buble and McElderry with George Michael, talent guru Simon Cowell explained at a press conference.

The three final X Factor contestants claimed to be adapting to the pressure of reaching the ultimate showdown.

Stacey said she believed this was her best week in terms of dealing with the pressure because it was down to the last three, thus ensuring that everyone gets a “medal”. She added to be feeling relaxed and happy.

As for Joe, he said he hyperventilates before entering the stage but puts all his nerves into his show.

Olly said he would just try to enjoy himself and have some fun.

Simon Cowell, apart from signing the X Factor winner, has not confirmed any plans to contract other participants with his record label.

He added that the agreement for the next series had still not been finalized.

Judge Cheryl Cole, who is believed to be carrying out planning stages to launch her American singing career, was asked what would be her price to return to the show and whether she’d consider another season if the performer she’s godmothering, Joe McElderry, wins the competition.

Cole replied that she would need a couple of months to consider her options, adding that Cowell is currently on his best behaviour with her.

In other X Factor news, the Facebook which is trying to out due the show’s Christmas album by urging people to purchase a 1992 track by Rage Against The Machine instead has exasperated Simon Cowell.

The pop talent champion as called to move “stupid” and “cynical”.

So far, more than 556,000 has pledged people had pledged to buy the song of “Killing In The Name.”

In a bid to stop all the speculative talks surrounding a possible engagement with Ayda Field, British pop star Robbie Williams has admitted he and his girlfriend have not yet made plans about a wedding.

In the spirit of humour, the performer asked for the hand of his American actress girlfriend during a live broadcast on a Australian radio show, a move that apparently even got his mother believing it was a serious gesture.

But Williams has now squashed the rumours by posting a short text on his official blog. The message reads that the couple is not engaged.

But the mother of former the Take That star reported on Radio 5 Live she had been looking for an engagement card, adding she was pleased for him and her daughter-in-law to be.

Rumours flew the moment Williams proposed to Ms Field during a live broadcast of 2Day FM in Sydney. The singer even had gotten his hands on a makeshift engagement ring which he borrowed from Jackie O, the show’s host.

Williams calmly asked “Will you marry me?” with the obligatory “I love you so much” at the radio show.

The actress answered affirmatively, saying she’d love to be his betrothed for the rest of her life.

Taking everyone by surprise, Williams was immediately given a “froggie” ring by the radio host to use as a pretend prop. Williams then proceeded to put on the ring on his girlfriend’s finger.

The surprise on-air proposal left many wondering if the singer was serious.

Hi agents back in the UK were quick to comment the “play” proposal and said that although he had popped the question, he had done it as a joke.

The pop star’s mother fuelled the speculations by saying her son had revealed his intentions about a week prior to the airing of the Australian radio show, saying it wouldn’t a surprise since the pair have been together for 3 years now.

After spending a few years in hiatus, Williams has now been reacquainted with spotlight particularly in the UK. Alongside the girlfriend-engagement antics, Robbie has recently released a new album, “Reality Killed the Video Star”, and has confirmed reunion rumours with the rest of the guys in Take That, his career launching boy-band.

Robbie Williams joined Take That band members Gary Barlow, Jason Orange, Mark Owen and Howard Donald at Royal Albert Hall in London for the Children In Need show. But the pop star insisted the real reunion is still on the horizon.

Both Robbie Williams and Take sang two separate sets at the event, but they did come together on stage to perform Hey Jude from the Beatles during the grand finale.

This included Sir Paul McCartney who led the performance, starting-off with versions of Get Back and Back In The USSR.

Barlow and Williams even performed together with their arms around each other, a scene which probably made a few Take That fans tear up.

Take That kicked-off the event with their track Greatest Day and subsequently played with audience with the suggestion of a reunion.

Barlow said to the 4,500-strong crowd that it was a perfect night to welcome an old friend.

Williams walked on stage with an emotional look on his face before joining his old bandmates.

A reunion of the original line-up of Take That was hinted by both Barlow and Williams before the band cleared the stage for Robbie and his solo singles Bodies and You Know Me alone.

Williams said after the performance that he was welling up prior to his stage appearance with Take That and that he wanted to stretch the moment a bit.

British superstar Robbie Williams has announced that he and the rest of Take That crew are working together again and are getting the band ready for stage performances.

Williams said he is thrilled with the prospects of reuniting with his old bandmates.

During a recording of Friday Night With Jonathan Ross, the singer confirmed that the band had already been doing some things together.

When asked if the band would soon be performing on stage together, Williams answered that he would hope so.

Williams opted out of the famous boy band in 1995 and had remained estranged from band member Gary Barlow for more than 10 years. Last year, the pair rekindled their friendship and were seen at the same New York City recording studio two weeks ago, fuelling speculations they had decided to resume their activities together.

During the interview, which is scheduled to be aired on BBC One this coming Friday, the performer admitted wanting children with girlfriend Ayda Field.

He said that he had always believed he’d remain a bachelor, but he said that his feeling changed when he met Ayda. The singer added that his girlfriend is a wonderful woman and that he’s in love.

Williams’ first live performance in three years was featured on Electric Proms last month and he admitted to Jonathan Ross that in the past, he had forced himself to rehab because of the stress involved with performing live, adding that huge concerts in front of 80,000 fans had always made him feel very nervous.

He said that experience is quite traumatic, and deemed it an unnatural thing to do. William said he had felt it was the right time to break the endless cycle of substance abuse and visits to rehab centres.

Williams said that he had taken the pressure off himself, seeing his career only has a part-time thing. He recognised that his girlfriend had helped him to remain grounded and he no longer feels the need escape his own reality.

The popular singer got reacquainted with the stage as a sell-out crowd greeted him at the BBC Electric Proms at London’s Roundhouse.

The gig was broadcasted in more than 250 theatres in 23 countries as a bid to set a new Guinness World Record for the most simultaneous cinematic screenings of a live performance.

Thousands of Williams fans across Europe saw the show thanks to a deal by BBC Worldwide Music.

Williams, who recently hit number two in the UK charts with his single Bodies, was featuring songs from his upcoming studio release Reality Killed the Video Star, as well as some hits from past albums. The singer was joined by a string section, a horn section and a full band.

The singer had previously set a record in 2006 when his celebrated Close Encounters tour sold 1.6 million tickets in one day.

Craig Glenday, editor-in-chief of Guinness World Records, said the group is glad to see Williams attempting to outdo himself once again.

Glenday added that the star has set several Guinness World Records in the past because of his phenomenal success at the charts. He added that Guinness is expecting more records to come from the performer.

The concert is scheduled to be screened in an 8,000 seat venue in Mexico City in a few weeks plus 18 theatres in Australia, 20 in South Africa and seven in New Zealand next month.

The latest Take That plans, including Robbie Williams, are already showing cracks.

Pop sensation Robbie Williams, who broke the hearts of a million teenagers parting from the boy band Take That in 1995, has recently been at the source of numerous rumours which created a media frenzy following an appearance in the company of his former bandmates at a New York recording studio during the weekend.

Rumours have since been flying in all directions, with some British media even going as far as confirming that the boy band was reforming and that an album plus a tour was in the works. The new recording session would be necessary since Williams would allegedly want fresh material to which he actually had contributed creatively.

But yesterday, Take That spokesman Richard Dawes poured some icy water over all the latest reunion ‘reports’.

The presence of all five men in New York was to apparently celebrate band member Mark Owen’s wedding with an eventful stag night, and that the studio was not booked by the band for a recording new material.

Dawes said that Take That were present at the studio to approve mixes for a live album which is scheduled for release at the end of November. Williams just went in to have a quick listen.

Take That regrouping rumours have emerged and receded at numerous occasions since 2007 when frontman Gary Barlow and Williams revived their friendship after a decade of acrimony.

Williams, who is preparing the release of his first material in three years, has always played along with the rumours by not doing anything to discourage the endless speculation and by regularly hinting ever so subtly that a reunion was eminent.

Experienced chart-man Robbie Williams is facing staunch competition for the Christmas No1 album spot – you got it, singer extraordinaire Susan Boyle.

Both singers are trying to crack America for the envied top spot – and unlike Boyle, it won’t be a first attempt for Williams. Williams has never been capable of duplicating the European success in America and is hoping his new album, scheduled for release in early November, will rekindle his fortunes and equate to U.S. superstardom.

Williams’ holiday-timed release, Reality Killed the Radio Star, is set to go head to head with I Dreamed A Dream from Boyle, which will come onto the market two weeks later.

But credits are already predicting doom for Williams’ latest material, with one industry expert even saying that EMI is nuts to have decided to go against Boyle.

Music commentator Paul Gambaccini foretold that there would be no competition: it’s Susan Boyle all the way.

He added that this is not meant to be an insult for Robbie Williams, it’s just that Boyle is the fresh artist and is definitely the story of the year around the world.

Ladbrokes bookmakers have also decided that Boyle will win the contest. They’ve given her album 2-5 odds of making the Christmas No 1 in Britain – with Williams’ getting 20-1 odds.

Mr Gambaccini also explained that Susan Boyle boasts 120 million YouTube hits, and even if only 10% of these individuals buy her album, the numbers are ridiculous. He added that Boyle has got the whole Cowell Machine supporting her.
