The Vienna concert scheduled for this month as a tribute to Michael Jackson has been cancelled and rescheduled for London in June 2010.

Michael Jackson’s brother Jermaine claimed that, due to scheduling problems, too many top acts had been unable to take part in the event.

Jermaine Jackson said that numerous stars were unable to modify their schedules to make a live performance at the Vienna tribute show possible.

The Jackson tribute concert was scheduled to take place in Vienna on 26 September at the Schoenbrunn castle.

Earlier last week, Mary J Blige, Chris Brown and Natalie Cole all previously confirmed for the event, claimed scheduling problems and pulled out of the Austrian event.

Jermaine added that many performers who he had spoken to told him that to be part of this memorial concert would be a great honour for them. But due to the small time-frame, scheduling changes had proven impossible for them.

After careful consideration, the group behind the tribute show has therefore decided to change the date of the concert to June 2010.

Now the group has eight months to get this monumental event ready and not just eight weeks.

World Tribute Productions, the promoters for the event, said all ticket holders for the Vienna concert would get a full refund.

A concert honouring the late pop star Michael Jackson has just suffered a serious blow with performers Chris Brown, Mary J. Blige, and Natalie Cole not expected to take part.

As previously announced, the event scheduled to take place on September 26, is organised to showcase a duet of sorts with Michael Jackson appearing on a gigantic screen to sing with his brother Jermaine.

Planned for Vienna’s Schönbrunn castle and with an predicted audience of 65,000 fans on site plus a TV agreement being worked on which would attract 1 billion spectators worldwide. The organisers now have the responsibility to replace the performers who have pulled out of the event.

Talking about the line up, Georg Kindel, the show’s producer, recently told a press conference that the of the star of the event is Michael Jackson and that other participant play a secondary role.

With ‘The Tribute’ tickets prices ranging from £55 to £453 ($92 to $755), fans will surely be expecting a few more high profile acts to bolster the line-up which presently boasts the likes of Sister Sledge and Akon.

The Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty will sing a rendition of Michael Jackson’s ‘Human Nature’, a ballad from the 1982 album ‘Thriller’, in homage to the late singer during the ‘David Gest… My Life’ gig in London on October 14.

The concert is being organised by producer Gest – who maintained a close friendship with Jackson – and has dubbed Doherty’s participation as “the icing on the cake”.

While the ‘David Gest… My Life’ musical act is set to tour the UK throughout the month of October, it is rumoured Pete will only play at the London date.

Other acts taking part include Little People of Davidland, Tess Tickle Dancers and Chinese Girls With Herpes, alongside renown musicians such as The Stylistics.

As well as being close to Michael Jackson, Gest has also developed a good friendship with the troubled Amy Winehouse since her UK return earlier this year. As of now, it is not believed she will be part of the show.

Meanwhile, father of Michael Joe Jackson has demanded “justice” for his son, after LA police authorities have ruled his death a homicide.

The pop icon’s demise has recently been ruled a homicide caused by acute Propofol intoxication – increasing the chances of arrests made in regards to his death.

Joe said: “I’m not angry. I’m mad, because I didn’t know all this was going on. Someone should pay. Not just someone but all of them should pay that’s involved.”

Tito Jackson will play a string of concerts in the UK this year as a tribute to his younger brother Michael.

Tito, formerly of The Jackson 5 with Michael and their brothers Jackie, Jermaine, and Marlon, will team up with Gladys Knight on a farewell British tour dubbed “Midnight Train to Love.”

According to organisers, Tito will perform with his 14-piece band The Funk Brothers, playing hits written by his brother Michael and The Jackson 5 as well as material from his forthcoming album due later in the year.

“The UK was a very special place to my brother Michael and I’m so excited to be able to pay my respects to his fans there,” Tito said. “To be able to do this whilst supporting our dear friend Gladys is a complete blessing.”

He also said that Knight, set to tour the UK with her Las Vegas act, introduced the famous brothers to Berry Gordy, Motown founder, a match which helped the group achieve pop stardom in the 1970s.

Knight’s tour debuts in Manchester on October 6 and is set to visit seven cities including Liverpool, London and Cardiff.

Tito’s tribute concerts will help compensate British fans who were expecting at least a O2 tribute gig.

A major Jackson tribute is instead being scheduled for Vienna’s Schoenbrunn Palace on September 26 with brother Jermaine at the commands.

Jermaine Jackson’s all-star birthday bash and tribute for his brother Michael is schedules for September 26, organisers say.

The 54-year-old singer has joined company with US Larry King’s wife Shawn to organise the concert, according to the New York Post.

The team initially had intended to have the memorial televised in Vienna on August 25 for a crowd of 250,000, but the pair apparently had insufficient time to organise the celebration.

“We wanted to make sure that everyone [who] wanted to be there could be there,” Shawn explained her husband’s CNN show.

Promoters have now officially confirmed that the event will take place on September 26 at Vienna’s Schoenbrunn Palace. According to Shawn’s publicist, Usher, Whitney Houston and Lionel Richie have all confirmed there presence at the tribute bash.

However, a Houston spokesperson has denied that the singer has committed to appear, while a source at the White House has refuted comments on the tribute’s promotional material qualifying President Barack Obama as ‘a confirmed talent’.

Other project participant, World Awards producer Georg Kindel, has hinted that Madonna will perform at the proceedings, but rep Liz Rosenberg said: “It’s not true. She’s still on tour.”

Jermaine has recently vowed to follow in his brother’s footsteps concerning his humanitarian efforts.
